The remains of late gospel singer, Kefee, has arrived in Nigeria, ahead of a burial which will hold this month. The body which was flown into the country on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos at 4PM via a Delta Airline aircraft. The body was received by a few family members.

Gov Rotimi Amaechi arrested in Ondo
Governor Amaechi had arrived Ondo state en-route Ado-Ekiti where he was to join his fellow APC Governor, Kayode Fayemi for the last lap of his re-election campaign today in when he was refused entry into the state. He decided to turn back to Ondo state to go board the private jet that brought him but was however arrested by security agents.

Pres. Jonathan appoints Bode George’s wife, Roli, as new NDLEA boss


President Jonathan has appointed Mrs. Roli Bode-George as the new Director-General of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). The appointment was announced last night by Presidential Spokesperson, Reuben Abati.
Mrs Bode-George takes over from Mr Olufemi Ajayi, who is now the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF). The appointment is with immediate effect.
Bode George was arrested and jailed for fraud and abuse of office when he served as chairman of the Nigeria Ports Authority, but his conviction was later upturned by the Supreme Court... Well...

The deputy head of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, NSCIA, AbdulAzeez Arisekola Alao, is dead.
His eldest daughter, Khadija, confirmed his death to the News Agency of Nigeria.
Mr. Arisekola Alao, an Ibadan-based Islamic leader, is noted for his philanthropy towards Islamic causes.
He was the Deputy President General of the NSCIA, and the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland until his death.

For 31 years, Mrs Omolara Irurhe was globetrotting not for pleasure but in search of a child. She was a guest in the best hospitals.

A FRESH insight into why more Nigerian women are having breast cancer has emerged. Three independent studies published this week linked a high intake of red meat such as suya, kilishi, nkwobi, isi ewu, bacon, bush meat, steak, to cancer.

486 Boko Haram suspects arrested in Abia State

Cultists hack driver, dump body on Lagos highway

The body of a man dumped at Oworonsoki had been crushed many times by vehicles on the highway. Punch reports that the body was later identified as that of 35year old Yemi, aka Topia, a resident of the area.
A resident of the area, Michael Oladipupo, told Punch that the dead man was the son of a landlord on Mabawonku Street. Oladipupo said Yemi was not killed by a hit-and-run vehicle as the situation suggested, but his body was dumped on the highway to serve as an alibi for his killers.

Worshippers at the Port Harcourt Road branch of Winners Chapel were full of thanks to God for sparing their lives after the police detected the explosives and detonated them.
A worshipper, Onumara Onyekachi, told newsmen, “I was about getting ready for the second service when a friend posted this “Breaking News!!!!!! Police Anti Bomb squad has just detonated two bomb explosives planted at Winner Chapel PH road Owerri”
“I made a few calls and confirmed that it was true.”
The police believe the explosives were planted on Saturday night and timed to explode after worshippers had gathered for worship on Sunday.
