Buhari beats Jonathan inside Aso Rock

Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan casts his vote in Otuoke, Bayelsa State on... Saturday
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) defeated President Goodluck Jonathan in the elections conducted inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
There are two polling units-Unit 021 and 022-located side-by-side within the premises of the seat of power.
Buhari polled a total of 613 votes in the two polling units while Jonathan scored a total of 595 votes.
At Unit 021, Jonathan beat Buhari to second position with 293 votes while the APC candidate scored 265 votes.
At the second polling booth, Unit 022, Buhari emerged winner with 348 votes while Jonathan polled 302.

Many shot dead in Rivers


Today’s presidential and National Assembly elections have turned out to be a big nightmare for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, with the members being killed, attacked and disenfranchised in various parts of the State.

APC wins in Obasanjo's ward



The Presidential and National Assembly elections in Ogun State held, Saturday was peaceful with little skirmishes in various parts of the state.

The All Progressives Congress seems to be in early leads in some polling units so far as at the time of filing this report .


At ward 11, polling unit 2, Olusomi’s compound in Sokori, Abeokuta, where Obasanjo cast his vote, APC won with wide margin.

Bode George fails in his unit



Former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olabode George lost his PU001 Evans Street, in Lagos Island, Lagos State to the All Progressives Congress, APC, by one vote.



The outcome of the presidential polls declared by the Electoral Officer, showed that the PDP scored 108, while the APC pulled 109.

Buhari wins in Abuja Barracks



Out of the 717 registered voters in the unit, APC polled 280 votes while its closest rival, the Peoples Democratic Party polled 213 votes.




The counting was concluded at exactly 9.55pm on Saturday.

TRAGEDY: Boat carrying Olu of Epe's son & five others drown after voting



Kunle Adewale, a son of the Olu of Epe, and five others drowned on Saturday in a river after their boast capsized.

It was learnt that Kunle, who is a Director in the Lagos State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, is the first son of the Olu of Epe, Oba Shefiu Adewale, who ascended the throne two years ago.


We learnt that Kunle and a local government chairman aspirant, Mr. Muiz Bello, as well as four others had gone to cast their votes for the All Progressives Congress when their boast suddenly capsized on their way back.
