Terror sect, Boko Haram, killed five persons on Saturday in Kayamla in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
7 wedding guests killed, 18 injured in Bauchi auto crash
At least seven people were killed and 18 others seriously injured when a bus carrying wedding guests crashed into an armoured military vehicle in northeast Nigeria, an official said Saturday.
The accident occurred late Friday when the bus full of women and children returning from a wedding collided with the armoured military vehicle outside the town of Azare in Bauchi state.

Niger Delta militants blow up pipeline in Delta state
A Niger Delta militant group identified as Urhobo Gbagbako, has blown up the NPDC Oil pipelines at Ighrenene, Afiesere and Ekiugbo communities in Delta State. In an email sent to reporters claiming responsibility for the bombing which occurred yesterday April 2nd, the spokesperson of the group, Priest Omodjuvwu, said the group, which consist of ex-militants, men, women & children of Urhobo origin, decided to blow up the oil pipeline following the continued neglect of the Urhobo militants in the pipelines protection contracts offered to ex-militants from other ethnic groups.
LAGOS GOVERNORSHIP ELECTIONS: 10 candidates step down for APC’s Ambode
Governorship candidates of 10 opposition political parties in Lagos State on Friday dropped their ambitions to contest the April 11 governorship elections in the state.

Nine Chadian soldiers killed in Boko Haram ambush
Nine Chadian soldiers have been killed and 16 wounded after being ambushed by Boko Haram fighters in northeastern Nigeria, the Chadian army said Thursday.
A military spokesman said the attack Wednesday took place about 10 kilometres (six miles) from the town of Malam Fatori, which Niger said had been retaken by regional forces from the Islamist militants earlier this week.

BUHARI VICTORY: 'We should be celebrating rather than mourning' - Jonathan tells PDP
President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday said despite his defeat in the hands of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) of the All Progressives Congress in the last presidential election, the Peoples Democratic Party should be celebrating rather than mourning.
In his statement after the announcement of the election result, Jonathan said the PDP should be rejoicing because it had, in the last 16 years, steered the country away from ethnic and regional politics.

With 95% Polling Units Collated, We Project Buhari As President-Elect
We can now confidently project that Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of last weekend’s presidential election based on collated poll results from 95 percent of Nigeria’s polling units. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will resume the official release of the poll figures at 10 a.m. Nigerian time today, with Mr. Buhari all but certain to be declared the president-elect.

Jonathan records 1.48 million votes in Rivers
President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party has won last Saturday’s presidential election in Rivers State with a total vote of 1,487,075.
Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.) of the All Progressives Congress followed suit with 69,238 votes while KOWA party came a distant third with 2,274 votes.

APC candidate defeats Niger governor Babangida Aliyu
Chairman Northern States Governors Forum (NSGF) and Niger State governor, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu has lost his Senate bid as he was defeated by the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, David Umaru.
He lost in five of the 9 local government areas of the Niger East Senatorial district.
The governor who contested under the platforn of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was defeated in all the wards of the five local government areas in the zone so far officially declared by the Independent Nationai Electoral Commission.
